My first thought was the flowerers reminded me of Doritis (which has now been reclasified as Phal), but the plant is more like a Vanda in looks.

Really interesting that you can get a cross like this because it's really worked well in this case.

Thank you all for your comments. I will update again when all the buds are fully open. Each buds takes a week to open! So that might be awhile later.
