Vanda tessellata blooming
This stubborn plant is finally flowering for me--and I have no idea why. It's received the same treatment this year as it has since I acquired it four years ago, so I'm at a loss for what triggered it to bloom.
There are only four flowers on the spike, but they smell marvelous. The scent is positively one of the strongest I've ever smelled on an orchid (let alone a vanda) and I can't keep from going out to the front porch multiple times per day to sniff the flowers. They've been open for a week, so I'll be interested to find out how long they remain in good condition.

Congratulations Steve. I love that one. I have 3 of them around my house. They never seize to amaze everyone that smells it. It's a beauty and a proud parent to so many.

I couldn't stand someone else flowering a tessellata without me having one. SO, a large flowering size plant of the BLUE one will be arriving here in the next day or so... so there. hehehehehehe
Beautiful flowering Steve.
