Wow, you guys are awesome here. I will try to take some photos of the new 'chid. I want to learn how to do that, anyway. Cheryl, you are too funny - NO, I can't just have one! I already have gotten a catt and two phals!
Hey, so fellow Floridians - how much sun DO I give the vanda? morning only? Afternoon only? I know that most sources say no midday sun, but how much is too much? Thanks all.
Mine are all hanging around the pool so they get full sun all day with about 20% shade from the screening. There are a few that started showing signs of sunburn so they got moved out of the direct light and are doing much better.
Start exposing slowly. Ideally, you are available to or three times a day to do this unless you have varying shades to use. Time is the variant with full sun. Unless youo are there all day, use differing shades. Vandas are high light, Catts are med high but Phals are much much shadier. Watch your Phals in Fl.
