Fifteen blooms and buds on the first of three spikes that are being produced this summer (originally there were seventeen buds, but something--probably one of the billion or so grasshoppers in the yard--ate two of them). The flowers are powerfully fragrant and of good substance.
Such a beauty. As I've said before, this is my absolute favorite vanda.
I got a chance to smell this one at the last orchid show. One of the growers put one on display, and it was quite a sight. I detected a wintergreen sort of scent, but it may have been due to the plant being out of sunlight.
