well I had a Vanda yesterday and I read the tag today and hmmmmm..I have a Christieara Shariff Alsagoff...it was kind of crooked with lots of character.The man told me it fell over in the basket and he just let it grow like that..okey with me bec its blue/purple and really pretty with lots of roots that tangle up everything.Has 16 more buds I counted and none blasted..we check in a few days..I got this for the porch outside southern exposure...I have an overhang so it should get no direct sun. and I apologize for being so noobish.. still..

I was reading about these and all I can find is that its not a registered "GREX".. I have to go look that up now too Christieara Shariff Alsagoff-07052010166-jpg

nice! Christieara - is an intergeneric hybrid of Aerides, Ascocentrum and Vanda. Abbreviated Chtra.

Default scented?
well it smells like algae


but other than that it does have a very light sweet scent. I didn't think it had a fragrance, as I stick my nose in everything that blooms, but I was noticing some light aroma today when I put it outside in the rain. I checked the buds today and already got a blasted bud, just bringing it home and having it inside overnight...

Algae on the roots means plant is happy though IMO.

So I like the smell of algae too
