I take no credit for the beauty of this chid...it started out as a super-healthy plant and with a little care on my part, it thrives.

In my opinion, I am just reaping the benefits of the outstanding vandas that Dr Motes has blessed us with

Weirdest thing...

there were 2 more buds at the very top of the spike last week. My hubby kept "suggesting" that I stake the spike...I prefer them unstaked...but I digress...sorry

Anyway, I staked it and one of the top buds started opening...this morning I found it to be what I think is a peloric bloom!

Two of the petals seem to have decided they wanted to try life as a lip I guess

I'm wondering what the final bloom will look like

This one came from Dr. Martin Motes.

Here's his contact info:
Motes Orchids, Inc.

I just bought another masterpiece from him at Redlands...when it comes to Vandas, Motes is my favorite

V. testacea x V. limbata

$35.00 and unbelievably gorgeous!
