Default Vanda coerulea hybrid optimum temps?

I've never grown Vanda coerulea, but I just purchased a few plants that have this species as one of the parents. Would someone who's had success with the V. coerulea hybrids in temperate locations like mine (Midwest) please give me some advice about the conditions these plants need, especially in regards to temperatures? I've read that V. coerulea itself does not appreciate uniformly warm-to-hot temperatures throughout the year. Does this also hold true for its hybrids? Thank you.

Steve

It depends upon just what genes it gets, so it's hard to say for sure. Mine get mighty hot in the summer, but are quite shaded and get watered almost daily.

My best advice would be to do what your reading has taught you, observe closely, and adjust as needed.

Not sure what your reading Steve, V. coerulea is one of the coldest growing vandas you can have. It can handle temps as low as 5c without a problem.

It depends on the % of coerulea blood in the hybrid. Most of the popular coerulea hybrid like Sansai Blue, Tokyo Blue, Manudevee, Princess Mikasa etc. prefer intermediate temperature. What are the night temperature?? Most coerulea hybrid will be happy with temp around 14-16'C at night with no proble, but they can telerate temperatue swing too.

Teperatures here can be 90 f to over 100 f, and go down to around 50 f at night, and my hybrid does very well. I keep it in dappled shade during the hotter parts of the day.
