Hi all,

I have a friend who thought he was ordering a large vanda, but ended up ordering a vanda compot. He's not entirely sure what to do, and to be perfectly honest I don't want to encourage him to go the wrong direction since I'm not really sure what to do with them either (I'm mainly an oncidium person, and you can be downright mean to oncidiums and they get by just fine...).

If anyone has some tried and true wisdom, that would be wonderful. They're in a compot, looking for transition to individual pots. Bark mixes? Lighting variation for smaller plants? Watering? Hormones/Chemicals? Anything and everything that you think would be helpful.

He doesn't have an account on here yet, but I told him about this post and he'll be checking on it. I'm also working on telling him he needs to just create an account.

Depends on his growing conditions. If warm and humid, I would suggest something like coarse PrimeAgra/LECA in a net pot. If a little drier, I would suggest a coarse coco-husk mix. Could you give us a little more info behind his conditions?
