Hey everyone, just wanted to show off my very first Ascocenda.
Hope you see this Lorraine!
By the way, so no one thinks I have a bird stuck in my pool cage, that's my dove Bear sunning himself by the roots...
Speaking of roots-check those out! They're insanely long and beautiful.
Thankyou Lorraine!
@ Sadie- I know, the weather is outstanding right now, we just had about 2 days of rain, I practically had to have a cannoe to navagate through our yard!
Sorry to say I don't know how old she is.
I just got her yesterday from my friend Ty at Plantio la Orquidea. For possible reference she's bloomed twice before...although that could have been quite recent with the way Ascos' tend to bloom in my opinion. My dear friend has a Asco the same size who blooms 2-3x a year! So I really could'nt say how old she is.
Such a beautiful red. You must hang it very high to keep the roots off the pavement and from drying out. I probably would have cut the long roots off if it were mine as I don't have room to house those with such long roots. Thanks for the pic.
Yes, she hangs from a hook near the top of our pool screen and I water her 2-3x a day. I just hung her on that candle stand to get better pictures of her. The thing I adore most about Vandas is their roots so I just leave those guys be, personally. But to each his own! Thankyou everyone for checking out my thread and commenting!
