Aerides odorata - is it a flower spike?
I got this with wild roots last week. I ended up cutting almost half of the length, leaving a few major roots and mounted the plant onto a cork plaque. As I was watering thing morning, I noticed this 'green' bump. Is this a spike or another root. I think it is a spike.  What do you think?

I think that it is a bit early to say. Can be ... The good thing is that the season of Aerides is coming so you have a good chance.

Its coming from the right area for a spike, roots usually come more from the sides ( mine do anyway )

It has just gotten bigger. I still cannot tell... It sure looks like a spike, though.
