When I saw the spike appear on my Asctm. garayi, I was thrilled. The spike grew to 3 inches. Then, earlier this week, I noticed the little buds started yellowing. The spike grew some more, but the buds don't look happy and healthy.
Is there anything I can do to prevent them from blasting?
Thanks,
Bob

Could you please provide information on growing conditions, growing location, temperatures, any drafts or heaters? Watering practices & humidity? With more information, someone may be able to figure it out. Also, a photo could help.
I got home from work, and rather than blasting, this plant bloomed yellow flowers. Can Asctm. garayi have yellow flowers? I wasn't expecting yellow. I bought Asctm. garayi because I wanted a rich orange bloom.
At this point, I need to post a picture and some other (requested) information. I need to finally get to sleep -- I had a rough day at work and am still wired. There will be pix over the weekend.
Thanks for answering.

Reason: Image didn't work
This is the Asctm. garayi I've written about. The buds started turning yellow, but the spike grew to 3 inches. Then when I thought it was blasting, it bloomed light yellow flowers. Over several days, the blooms got more orangey -- still not the bright orange I was expecting, but -- well, please let me know if you think this is an Asctm. garayi.
