Talking Ascocenda Princess Mikasa blue

I received this about a month ago, it came all the way from Germany with a teeny spike. See if you can spot it

I never thought it was going to survive but it kept on going even after one of the cats toppled it over and the whole plant landed on top of the spike damaging it in the process But it finally started opening the buds today So here's a quick picture of it this evening. I'll post a better one once it's fully opened!

So excited

Well it looks fine to me and I would be happy to get one of those to flower anytime.

It's already in my wish list, but I don't have space for it, I think. How big are the leaves?

By the way, it looks like pink Princess to me, not blue....

Very beautiful, capturing those blues is one difficult task. It's amazing how tough orchids can be, I've had accidents happen to mine, but they just keep going!

Thanks again!

The whole plant is not that big, it's about 13 inches tall and 13 inches wide.

It looks a little pink in the pictures but it's more purple in real life. I imagine that as the flowers get bigger the colour will lighten. I'll have to play around with the camera settings and try to get some more accurate pictures in a few days time.
