This is a clone that I obtained from Carmela Orchids three years ago. This is the second bloom for the plant that is grown in an 8-inch square wooden basket with no media. The plant is 8 inches tall (measured from the top of the basket to the apex of the crown). There are six raspberry colored flowers on the single inflorescence. The flowers have a natural spread of 4-1/2 inches. The plant owned by R.F. Orchids in Florida had 9 huge flowers with a natural spread of almost 6 inches when it was awarded an FCC by AOS in 2004. I have a ways to go to get my flowers to that size.
That is beautiful. Good growing. Maybe some day mine will look like that. I've had it 4 years but it has gone through a lot of trauma. I had it on my deck when a storm hit. My vanda was gone. I found it later on the golf course, beat up and sun burned. I gave it a lot of TLC, it is growing, but has never bloomed. I really hope it will reward me for all the care I gave it by giving me a bloom.
