Rhynchostylis gigantea var rubrum is from the area of kabinburi in Western Thailand.

Philippe, is this the same as the one known as "Red" ?
I have 3 or 4 different varieties of these and hopefuly will be able to flower them. They are growing along side the Ascda YSW you looked at earlier.

Rhynchostylis gigantea var rubrum has a much darker color than the "red". The rubrum variety is the only "natural" red Rhynchostylis gigantea found in the wild.
On the pict below, first on the left is "red" and all others are var rubrum.
Don't worry, I m sure you will be able to flower them because Rhyncho gigantea needs large amount of light but still less than Vanda and I rememember that you are doing quite well with Vandas !!!

Thanks Phil, we can only wait and see, they are doing fine in the growth rate at the moment.
Have to get a rubrum, I can see that.
I have a small Orange form coming soon.
