Hello

Can anyone advise me of the cultural requirements of Vanda Metusalae. I have read a bit in the Internet and want to hear what members here know of this species

Vanda metusalae is a rather new species. I'm not sure if many people in the US owns this plant.

I did find this article, maybe it would be of interest to you.

Thanks

I have seen that one before. It is sort of useful.

I like to read a number of texts or get several opinions though as people may have other ideas or experiences.

I have found two sources of plants in Indonesia.

Hi Phil

I think you made a typing error hahahah.. You mean condo hahah... I may have some rare species in flask buddy, but you will have to wait on those.

Anyway, if anyone can give advice, that will be great.

Phil, a pic of this vanda was posted in another forum, well before this post. I looked up the name but it doesn't seem to have been recognised by anyone. Has it been submitted to the RHS or Kew list of Monocots for recognition on any other body??

very interesting Roy. On the link who was given bu King of orchid Growing, it is writtten that the specie was described by Peter O'Bryme (the one who described and named V. jennae in 2004) and Jaap Vermulen in the Journal The orchid Review 116 (1279) in 2008.
I found it on the Kew list :
World Checklist of Selected Plant Families: Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
But it is a fact that I couldn't find anything on RHS.

Phil, I checked the list of monocots and found it also, the reason I didn't before is I used the name spelling from the other forum, which was wrong. No wonder it didn't come up. I was thinking, it probably won't show in the RHS until it has been used in breeding, then when a cross is sent for registration, only then will it appear after they clarify the name.
