WOW!!!!!!!!!! Those Vandas are AMAZING!!!!!!! Those pictures make me want one!!! Great Job!!!

So how do you grow them? I see that most of their roots are in the air--do you water/mist them every day or what? How much light and fertilizer???

Very beautiful blooms on all of your plants. Do you happen to grow any of the vandaceous species from the Philippines? Vanda merrillii, V. luzonica, etc.?

hi all,

Happy New Year! I was so happy seeing this plants blooming together for the new year.Thank you all for the compliments.

@orchidman77 - i am from the Philippines, basically a tropical country similar to Thailand where my vandas came. They are grown on baskets and hanged allowing roots to grow freely without any medium. They are watered twice a day, early morning and another in the afternoon after sunlight has cooled down a bit but not too late. I water them copiously until roots turn green and allow them to dry in between. Vandas love moisture around them but not on them,so humidity place a vital role and much more is good air movement. With regards to light, they are exposed to 50% sunlight so i place a shade net above, morning sun til 4pm in the afternoon. I fertilize my vandas once a week alternating complete fertilizer 20-20-20 with bloom booster.

@smweaver- sorry i don't grow species orchids for now,all of these vandas are hybrids and/or mericlones from Thailand.

thanks Sui, I am getting a vanda sooner or later and need to know how to grow them. Since I live in a VERY hot, humid, and bright place, I don't think I'll have a problem.
