Talking My Two Plants ( Picture Heavy )

Since I was so excited, I could not wait for them to fully open. I got them bloomed with my care.

The first one is Ascda. Ratchabri Golden Red, which I got last Christmas from a local grocery store.

In Bud

First flower open

This is V. Darres Golden Heritage x V. Dr. Anek, which I bought in March when I visited San Diego Orchid Show. Still curious WHY the yellow flower crossed with the pink flower creates a two-toned 'pink' flower. I hope it is tagged correctly.

Opening

First flower open

Two of them next to each other

I like the Ascda Naoki, its available here & I've been tempted but I'm heavy on reds now. It should get a lot more flowers as it grows.
The Vanda didn't get much from the V. Darres' parent at all, the Dr. Anek rules. Its possibly the right name, hard to tell as similar crosses have flowered as yours.

Since I have been wanting a 'two-toned' Vanda for a long time, this is a keeper.

Naoki, so beautiful!
I wondered if you have crop from the spike/buds from the first one. I have my first Vanda (rescue) in spike/bud and I thought it was going to blast the buds as the bracts/stems to the buds look different than I'm used to. When I look at this picture I see the same as in mine... I would love to see a closeup from the stems to the buds (or are they called bracts?) to see what it should look like.

Pretty please? :-)

Nicole

Yes, thanks Naoki.
I'm still in doubt about bud blast or not... time will learn. The bracts are not as green as the buds, but they change color a bit too. I guess because of the color of the future blooms... Your picture clearly shows the changes in the bracts I see too in my plant, however in my plant it could be more extreme. I'ts a NOID...

Again thanks Naoki... fingers crossed for my plant. I live in NL and the dark cold days (nights, maybe drafts from the window) might cause bud blast. It would be the my first time I bloom a Vanda :-)

You are welcome, Nicole. My fingers and toes are crossed for your plants.

I have one Vanda hybrid which has put out a spike 4 times this year, but it has not made to the flower yet. The buds blasted prematurely. Not sure why. It is growing in a same condition with other Vandas.

Awesome plants/flowers. My large(3ft) vanda is dying(leaves are turning yellow and dropping off. Any hints? It was doing well this summer.
