is it possible to water my vanda too much when it has bare roots??? I usually come home and spray a good mist on the hanging roots while I let the dog out. Thanks for any info!!!

I think the only way to water too much bare root would be if you just left a sprayer on 24 7 on the roots

I was just curious because the bottom two leaves are starting to drop and I have another that its leaves by the old spikes are turning yellow. could that be too much heat??? or big range in temp between night and day. Here in NE FL its been about 25-30 between night and day and I have them outside.

Nope, it's natural for Vanda to drop the lower leaves as it gets taller. Vanda by nature need at least 2-3 spraying a day, to conpemsate for the low humidity.

You only have to worry if you Vanda doesn't have/few roots and most leaves are dropping like crazy.

Do you have any pics? Is it an older plant? Misting is nowhere close to doing any damage, or much good for that matter. Once it gets closer to winter in J.ville, I'd be very careful about misting or watering late in the day. You don't want them being wet at night, specially when it's cold. Add wind to that combination and you won't like the results. Good luck, and show us the pics

What kind of Vanda are you talking about.

Not all Vandas have the same temperature tolerance.

When I water I need to make sure you water the roots not the foilage. Water most likely got and stayed in the leaf axils too long

The wrinkling on the leaves may mean you need to try to increase the humidity if you can

do you water the entire plant or just the roots?? would be interesting to know because i water my whole plant from time to time and had no idea it was potentially really bad!
