Hi Cookiemonster, the plant is pretty large, about 16" tall but still only a single fan. I don't know why it has never made keikis but I would guess it is because it has never lost any bottom leaves.

I NEED one of those, in a blooming size. I have never seen one as beautiful as yours. It's not going on a want list, it's going on a

Wow! Those blooms are spectacular and such a vivid shade of blue. How long have you been growing this one and how often does she bloom?

Junebug, I got it from Carter and Holmes as a mature flowering plant about five years ago. Unfortunately, like most species, it only blooms once a year.

Is it in a pot or basket? It is so striking, I guess I will have to try to find one as well. The blue is wonderful. Does it normally bloom in July for you? Outside or in a gh? I am so jealous. Betty

I grow in a greenhouse but this plant that is growing in a ten inch basket gets hung on the back porch around April lst and it always blooms in late June or early July. I have Rhyncostylis gigantea spots that is like clock work. Around the fifteenth of October you can look down into the leaf axils and your are sure to see small buds forming. That is one of the many nice things about species; there are no surprises.
