Sometimes ago I posted Vanda tricolor when I first purchase in bloom. The grower came from elevation about 600m from sea level. Vanda tricolor is known to be cool growing and often found around 1000m from sea level.

Pict already posted above:

2 months later, the same orchid rebloom in my house where it's only less than 50m from sea level. Flower seems rounder and labellum has a hint of purple while I think the size is slightly reduced compared to the one grown in highland.

Can't help falling in love more with this species.

Thanks! The 1st photo on 1st page is also giving me 2 spikes. I can't wait to see if my growing area also affect the flower form.

Nice Vanda tricolors. This is definitely on my list. It's been on my want list forever. I never got around to getting them yet, there were other much rare orchids I wanted.

Thanks for showing how different a species of Vanda can be just from the locality they come from.

Just out of curiosity...

How is Indonesia doing? My parents have talked about going back to visit. I wanted to know what's going on, I've still got relatives there.
