Smweaver, Carl, my electric bills run about $150. but I have lots of T5's also running 12 hours a day.
It is not that much work taking care of these vandas. I'm not the youngest chicken in the hen house, and I walk with a cane, so I assembled this setup with the least amount of work needed. I have a small Dostron fert injector in my bathroom. I took off the shower head, and use my water from there. I use a coiled hose with a wand on the end. Every thing drains into the rain barrel and then into the shower stall drain. I just spray the roots once a day, that's it for the work involved. This is the lazy womans way of growing about 40 vandas. My biggest problem is walking the steps, I'm slow, but I get there.
I guess that is why my boys make fun of my hodge podge arrangement. They make fun of it, but bragg to their friends about the orchid their mom grows
