The coat rack is just for photos. It is not very sturdy. I have a large, decorative, very heavy, I think cast iron, coat rack in front of my slider in my living where I usually hang my vandas when they bloom. I can't move the large coat rack to a better background because it is too heavy for me to move. At the present time I have 5 blooming plants hanging there, but the light isn't good enough to grow them there. I have posted pictures of vandas hanging on my coat tree but the background doesn't do them justice.
I grow my vandas in my basement, under a HID light, but take them upstairs to enjoy when in bloom.
Steve, for lack of a better word, I call it wedgwood blue, with a deeper blue lip. Call it what you may, but it is one of my favorite vandas. I especially treasure it because it was a gift. I lived 75 years before I was ever gifted with an orchid plant, or even a coursage. I also love the slight fragrance.
I will have a birthday next month but my kids never think of giving me orchids, they think I already have too many for me to take care of. I'm not as helpless as they think I am. Whatever needs to be done, I usually can do it myself.....except for moving heavy coat trees.
