Very nice! It is not common to see this species here in Taiwan.

Thanks for the pictures. Now I am sure that is what I have. I'm going to print out a new label now.....it still says NOID. Mine is also quite fragrant. I am real thrilled with the plant.

Mine came in a wood basket which is almost falling apart. I will need to repot it when it is finished blooming. What medium do you recommend? I plan to put it into another wood basket so I can hang it with my vandas. Should I let the roots hang free? At the present time they are all stuffed tightly in the basket.

Thanks for the pictures.

Marilyn

Maryline : continue like you do, Aerides are at their best when grow like Vanda.
Jeens : I grow it like a Vanda : watering every day and add of fertilizer often. This specie needs a lot of light but a little less than others Aerides (houlettiana, flabelata).

Thanks. I will put it into a new wood basket when it is finished blooming. I had no idea what I had so I just guessed at what to do with it, and it turned out well. What medium would you suggest? Whatever it was in before is pretty much rotted out. I was thinking of just using charcoal and treat it like my vandas. Does that sound right or would you suggest something else for the medium?

Charcoal is just perfect. This is how I grow my Aerides too. A few of my Vanda too (most of them grow in a basket without any medium). And grow it like a Vanda too : watering, fertilizer etc...
