Don, I have the same cross, also blooming now. Whomever said it is denosiana is correct.

I think the fragrance smells like a rose as well, however to be more specific a Tropicana rose. One of my favorite rose smells, and now I have an orchid that smells just like it!

Thanks Jenn for your comments. I feel I have the correct name on the tag. I am not familiar with the different names of roses but I will take your word for it being that of a Tropicana. But she does smell purrrrdy!

I am not familiar with v. deoisoniara. What does this one look like? I tried looking it up on orchidspecies, but didn't see it. Do you know anything about it? I am very curious....

Those are beautiful flowers, Don. I especially like the vibrancy of the red, even though I'm not a big fan of red flowers. Congratulations on your blooms.

I think that Roy hit it on the head when he mentioned that the tag is misspelled, and that it is most likely V. denisoniana. I would even venture to say that I'd put money on it.

Both the shape of your blooms and the mention of the tropical fragrance are distinctly V. denisoniana traits. The coloration that Roy pointed out is right on!

In this case, what you've got is Ascocenda Crownfox Red Delicious (Ascocenda Peggy Foo x Vanda denisoniana).
