vanda keiki help request

Assuming that a keiki taken from a mature vanda is healthy and has lots of roots and leaves, how soon should one expect it to recover from the inevitable shock of being clipped from the mother plant and repotted on its own? Is there anything in particular that should be done for recently detached vanda keikis that might help ensure their recovery/survival? Specifically, how soon should I expect to see new root tips growing from the main stem after the plant's been removed from its parent? Thanks in advance to anyone who's had firsthand experience with this.
