V. Fuch's Delight x V. coerulea
This is the second time this one has bloomed this year, it's first spike was in December. This is one of the most striking-colored orchids I have. Unfortunately, I got a little algaecide in the flowers this time....so they are a little damaged. I really like the tiny yellow "bow" that is inside the flower's throat. I have two Vandas with this trait, and they are both in bloom right now....think they may be related?
....and here's a link to the December blooms http://www.orchidboard.com/community...-coerulea.html

Fuch's Delight parents are Vanda Kasem's Delight x Vanda Gordon Dillon. FD is from 1982. Coerulea is older, much older, maybe 1847. I am not sure that I understand the notations in Orchid Wiz on this one. Jasen I think you need Orchid Wiz, though you are giving me good practice looking things up. The more I use it, the more I learn. Carol

I would loooooooooove to have Orchidwiz, it's just not in the budget. Maybe one day we can get them to sponsor a photography contest on the OB, then I may have a shot. Until then, I have to rely on you guys....thanks!

Man....I love V. Gordon Dillon. That may very well be my fovorite Vanda hybrid. I killed a beautiful one, and haven't found another since.

V. tesselatta is from 1830 if I understood this correctly. Suppose that means when it was discovered. It does not have a cross between another V t listed. The bloom is copper colored with no yellow bow.
