Aerides quinquevulnera
Holy Cow!!! I thought this thing was cool before it bloomed now I think it's awesome!!! The scent of these strange little flowers is like a cross between vanilla and cinnamon...it's only fragrant at dusk but it fills the entire greenhouse with it. When you open the doors it hits you in the face and the plant is hanging on the other end!!
Thanx for looking!

Cool! They look so much like Rhynchostylis, I wonder how closely they are related?

That is awesome!
I bought one last year at the Tampa sale and it stayed in bloom forever!
I noticed that you are growing yours like a vanda...I bought mine potted in staylite gravel, so now you've got me thinking...

Oh, I love it. It looks great mounted. I think I could even grow one of those with my vandas. You gave me something to think about and I like the idea of it being so fragrant. Thanks for posting it.

Wow! Yours looks awesome. I "accidentally" got this guy a couple months ago under the name Aerides lawreciea, but it turned out to be this guy.
However, mine is fragrant during the daytime too, but doesn't start until around 1 or 2. I wonder if it takes it getting up to a certain temp or something?
Anyway, awesome display. Interesting that they are both mounted on tree fern (or so it looks). Great growing!
