Wait till the sucker gets bigger (if it's one of the larger varieties). I had one that put out multiple spikes and the plant grew a side shoot and the display was AWESOME!!!
I would definitely go for one again.

very nice it's one of my favorite orchids. it has such beautiful flowers and such a wonderful scent. I have one that's just about done blooming, and another two that are just getting ready to start. (the larger ones have two spikes each, I can't wait to see them open)

Very nice Orchid Gin.
Do you think it's an easy grower?
What about humidity and temperatures?
I am thinking to buy it, but I'm not sure to have the right condition to grow this orchid, because my problems are the minimum temperatures. I can't mantain during winter 55°F, but in my terrace I will reach almost 41-43°C, and outside the humidity its variable, even if I live near the sea, so in a town with a good humidity.
Thank for all the people than will help me,
Flavia

I think Sedirea japonica blooms are well worth the long wait! Yours are beautiful. I just love this orchid so much. I think I will have to get another one, my miniature one is still struggling to survive after a bad ongoing mealie prob in the fall/winter.

It's beautiful Gin!
I'm going to have to wait until next time around as the buds all blasted on mine just as the first one was going to open. Oh well, *sigh*
