vanda question
Default vanda question

I posted on the beginner forum the other day & one of the plants that has bloomed for me is a vanda. It has a tag that says v. zengyo pink. I did a search to see if I could find any thing & I saw a past post about a dendrobium zengyo pink. Is it common for differest types to have the same name? Could the tag be incorrect? I have posted a picture of the flower.

Tim, I can confirm that you definitely have a vanda there. Sometimes you will see the same name on different types, but that is generally for species, not hybrids.

Anyway, your plant has probably been mislabeled as the person above mentioned. You can try calling them and asking if they have correctly identified your vanda, or just keep hoping someone here may figure it out for you.

The good news is that you can just give it the same care as any vanda for the most part. Lots of air circulation around the roots, water daily with roots drying quickly, lots of bright light. Good luck!

Thanks JennS & orchidislandinc.

I was just curious & this board is always reliable for answering questions. I've had that plant several years & it taken off a couple of years without blooming so I was happy I had made it healthy again.

The phals are the easiest to grow. I also have some cymbidiums that I haven't seen flower yet, couple of catts & oncidiums.
