I guess I might as well post a picture of mine too. There are actually two different plants in the basket that were bought at different times. The one on the right in the second picture looks a little different in color.
I couldn't tell you. A couple dozen or so maybe?
Mine has been in a bright SE facing window. You can tell it's grown fairly bright by the purple spots on the leaves. When I had it in the opposite window a couple of years ago the spots faded and went away so I moved it back.
I love these! Little Vanda alliance chids for the grower who doesn't have space for the big boys. The color is fantastic. Although I doubt I have enough light for them.
Those of you who grow this plant probably know that it gets some very dark maroon spotting in the winter and spring if grown in very bright light. If you look at the picture of the first plant that I posted om 3-30-09, you will see some very irregular dark spotting on the leaf. I was sure that this was not the common speckling from bright light but a black spot fungus but guess what; the plant is in the growing mode now and has turned completely green and all of the spotting is gone including what I thought was fungus.
I am posting this just for info. to others who grow this plant so you won't be concerned like I was about the black markings.
