This Rynco. is suspended from the limbs of an Orange tree. It receives full eastern exposure and a few hours of filtered Southern exposure. This one is potted loosely in a wooden slat basket with large chunks of bark and charcoal and most of it's roots have chosen to be exposed to air. I dunk the roots in collected rainwater once a day during the warmer months and less often during cooler temperatures.

I love this one. Mine is in bloom also but only one spike. I received mine from a friend who recently died but I will always remember him. One day I hope mine produces two spikes. Thanks for the pics.

This is the first time she's produced 2 blooms and if memory serves me correctly this is the 4th time she has bloomed. Her root production did not interfere with the stability of her lower leaves last summer, but 2 of the bottom leaves are beginning to fade and I suspect they'll be shed during this year's growing season. This is also the first time I've noticed her perfume which is only detectible during daylight hours and fades as evening sets in.

Thank you for the info! If the one I have doesn’t bloom this year I am thinking I will put it outside. I put mine in a basket with fired dirt .When the logging companies burn large slash piles it heats up the clay type dirt hot enough to make irregular shaped clay globules its very porous. The problem I have had with some orchids is not enough light I need two green houses and a shade house to grow all the orchids wont. K.C.
