Hey Swamper,

This is a great thread. Somehow I missed the original one. I have a few (probably dumb) questions. In your first set of photos...pyrex baking dish...what is happening there? It looks like your soaking or washing off the agar. Is that just water or was Physan or something else added and how long did they soak or was this a brief cleaning process?

Next question...You mentioned Physan and water in a spray bottle. Can you elaborate? Are they watered with this mixture for a period of time?

And...how are you caring for them at this stage of their development? Have you been fertilizing them?

Thanks,

June

June, I was only washing off the agar. The water had just a little pinch of fertilizer 20-20-20. I then let it sit there about 20 minutes, before placing them in their pots.
I only did the physan 20 when I got home once, never again. It was a very light concentration like 2 or 3 drops, sorry I cant be more specific than that.
I left them inside in the kitchen window for the first 6 months. I just took the last batch out yesterday.
I grow them the same as the adults as far as watering and food goes. One difference is I don't allow as much direct sun as the big ones get, only some morning or late afternoon sun gets to them.
So far the only casualties have been the real tiny ones that I smuggled to safety thinking I might get them to survive.

Thank you for sharing your information. I've never ordered a flask but after reading your threads, I'm tempted. Maybe one day I'll take the plunge.
