Thanks. It's all been a learning experience since the greenhouse is only a few months old. I do like the green rods though because they have those little "nubs" on them that keep the hangers from sliding around (handy when the fan is on high).

(Yeah, I said "nubs" )

Vanda Fan

Can you give us the names of the two beautiful Vandas which you pictured? They look fantastic.

Marilyn,
The blue one was Pakchong blue (Doctor Anek x coerulea). Among the blues that I've grown, such as Sansai, Princess Mikasa, ..., I like Pakchong the most - even though Sansai blue flowers are a little bigger (10 centimeters across). Pakchong is more blue and brighter than others.
The other was a hybrid of Gord Dillon "Lea".

Vanda Fan, thanks for the names. I sure will abe looking for the Gordon Dillon 'Lea'. I don't have anything like that and I love it.

Thanks Vandafan,

I wish mine was a greenhouse then I would have some control of the temp.. I have a screened in pool area that still gets the cold weather when it comes this far south and the extreme heat. I have to bring everybody in if we get a freeze. That being said I enjoy being able to get everybody soaked with no cleanup Nice blooms on your vandas.

I'm hoping to get an Ascda that was named after a friend of mine called Ascda 'Jackie Wood'. Hope I get one this weekend.

A friend in Florida made an "A-frame" setup out of 1" PVC - it looks like a swing-set frame. He capped all of the pipe, and installed misting nozzles in the bottom of the cross-bars (the long one at the top and those in the "A's"), so that he could water merely by opening a single valve.

A lot of good suggestions. As previously mentioned I use gal. pipe in the greenhouse closer to the ceiling for plenty of light AND I have two PVC ones that are in a shape of a T. Easy to carry outsides for the summmer months. Good luck.
