Sorry that I did not rotate the pictures before attaching. The last photo was a big plant. Those are just a few among the vandas I have. One of my sanderianas, grown the same way, just develops 2 spikes. I will post the pictures when the flowers are visible and open.
I just took the pictures. They are on my C: drive. Don't know how to insert. When I press the insert image, it asks for the URL http://.
I am new. Please help.
When you reply to this post make sure that you are in the "advanced" mode (which you should be if you hit "reply"). On the top of the message window where you are typing is a paperclip - click on it. It will ask you to upload photos from your computer. Click on the "browse" button and locate the photos you want to add. When you've added the photos you want click on "upload" (make sure the photos fit into the size limits otherwise scale them down and try again). When you have all the photos click on "close this window" and your photos are attached (I did one of my orchid photos here so I could walk through the process while I typed).
Here are a couple pics of how I have mine. I used round hand railing from HD and cut to length needed then primed and painted the same color as the house. I suspended with hooks and chain. I have all kinds if things hanging on long poles in 3 areas. The chain supports the weight. I just placed them in key areas then cable zip tied the funny pipe to make a misting set-up on the side with vandas and anybody else that needed it every day. there is a lot more hanging since this pic was taken.

Great ideas guys! Love the hand railing. During the summer I just hang my vandas from the trees then string a misting system through the branches of the trees. The vandas, trees, and dogs like it. (Okay, the humans don't mind on 100 degree days either).
Here is my hanging systems in my greenhouse. The green "rod" is one of the biggest plant supports that I could find at HD - they are 8' long and about an inch in diameter and they are normally used to stake small trees up.
My greenhouse is small so the vandas right now are hanging on an inverted plant stand hung over a large tub of rainwater, fertalizer, and physan which is hooked to a pump/sprinkler that I turn on for 10 minutes twice a day. The vandas are in the southern side of the greenhouse for maximum light and seem to love this - they have been blooming on and off since moving to the greenhouse.

You posted while I was. Sorry.
Do you have those vandas is bark??? Wow - they are very impressive! Way to grow!
I just put some bark (medium or coarse) + charcoal to fill about 15 or 20% of the pot. It seems the plants are doing well with healthy leaves all the way to the bottom (root base) and green tip roots everywhere.

I'm going to try it on some of my smaller vandas which don't have really elaborate root systems yet. Thanks!
Lorrain and Utah,
I am very impressed with your green houses and how you present your plants.
Thanks. It's all been a learning experience since the greenhouse is only a few months old. I do like the green rods though because they have those little "nubs" on them that keep the hangers from sliding around (handy when the fan is on high).
