Vanda Worried!

hi, i amcocerned about my vanda that i put in a basket since i had no time to water it three times a day. it was in a bad shape when i bought it as it s crown was black and shriveled. in 15 days a new leaf appeared as i kept watering it leaving the crown.now i have noticed that some of the middle leaves are turning yellow not totally but at places where the leaves had black patches .i also noticed some roots turning first yellow then mushy black.there is one more querry regading a nother vanda that i have. it has broader a bit hanging leaves and the roots are comparatively longer and thicker .its leaf to leaf distance is also morethan the regular plants.ido not know the variety.i hope somebody will answer my querries.Thankyou.
One suggestion that iwant to give my friends is to buy orchids in bad shape and try to revive them .its cheaper and more rewarding .make sure hte rootts are healthy.
