Holcoglossum kimballianum - Orchid Board

The species used to be known as Vanda kimballianum and could be found in highlands in south China and Thailand.

The plant belongs to a friend of mine who is good at taking care of some cool growing orchids. According to his experience, the species comes from high mountains, but it still does well in lowlands, which encourages me to look for one plant to grow!

Looks like a terete type vanda which would love full sun, I wonder how it would do in a subtropical area. If I were a betting man I'd bet it would do ok.

Here is a really neat article I found about the Holcoglossum amesianum that I thought might interest some others in learning. I don't know if this constitutes poll hijacking, but I just thought it fit with learning more about this genera (not sure if that is the correct term, but I am trying, please correct me if I am wrong).
