I'm in love! My first vanda blooms!
I bought these vandas in May this year, this is my second attempt at growing vandas in vases. I think I got it right this time!!!
The blooms on the Blue Magic (V Golamcos Blue Magic x coerulea) are just spectacular! The flowers are big, each bloom is about 13cm (5 inches) across and there are 9 blooms.
I am very happy. I just love the blue/ purple colour, they seem to darken every day.
Here's the Asc. Princess Mikasa Blue, I am over the moon to have the two blooming at the same time! Yeh!
Thanks for looking and sharing my vanda joy!
Happy growing!
Juliet

Your pictures are beautiful! I know how you feel, Juliet. In May I bought an Asc. Pincess Mikasa Saphire, with its roots all dried out. Two months later it was blooming! I was so excited. A few weeks ago I got a Vanda (Robert's Delight "Garnet Beauty") and put it into a vase. Wish me luck. My sister in Germany has a Vanda that sits in the bottom of the vase, with its roots growing up to the top. She bought it that way. It has bloomed twice this year, and it is gorgeous. If I knew how to attach pictures ... I'm having trouble navigating this website.

Hi renate,
Isn't vase culture sooo cool! It gives us GH-less people a chance to grow vandas!
Guess what? I am trying to get a V Robert's Delight "Garnet Beauty" as my next vase subject too!
I hope Dorothy's link has helped you in posting pics! We would love to see your vanda photos!
All the best,
Juliet

Beautiful flowers! How often do you water them? Do they stay indoors, or do you grow them outside?

Nice addition to your collection. The veining in the Blue Magic is near perfect. And the Princess Mikasa is one of my favorites. Mine is also in bloom and in fact the second time this year. Looks like mine is splitting in two. I mean the top split into two parts and the center is still growing upwards. If they grow roots I just made divide. Enjoyed your pics.
