Haraella odorata finally bloomed!
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to post a picture of my Haraella odorata that just bloomed and has a total of 4 spikes!  |

no fragrance. just a really cool species. I also just discovered thta one of my vandas has a spike! I can't believe how well they have been doing since the big move 2 months ago!

Wow, looks so cute! I am waiting for mine to bloom. The spike seems like it is taking a long time to finally bloom. How long does it generally take?
Also, it seems that my plant is a lot smaller than other's here. Mine is about one inch tall and only has four leaves but has 4 spikes already. I hope it doesn't bloom itself to death as noted in the other posts about haraellas.....

Yours is blooming size. They take quite a while (usually) to fully mature the blossom. Lotsa things can cause problems, like insect sprays. I find Haraella to be quite sensitive of sprays so I try not to use them when they are in spike. Even Safers soap might cause distorted blossoms! I have never had one bloom itself to death. I have one clump of three plants with maybe 10-15 spikes that will probably bring all of these to blossom at same time. |

I have an update on my Harella. It has been producing blooms nonstop since I first posted pictures. I recommend this species to anyone who wants a frequent bloomer.

Very nice bloom. Ross, I still think the fact that you feed keeps it from blooming itself to death. Do you your blooms?
