I confess to buying this in bud two years ago. It quickly became too big and I gave it to a friend. It was an un-named cross when I got it so I applied to the RHS and named it after my son. Cute eh?

Wow, you can name NOID's yourself!? I just thought NOIDs were orchids that had lost their tag but originally had a registered name.
In anycase, great looking Vanda. Next time you want to get rid of one, look my way,
As if I actually had a good place for one.

No it wasn't a Noid. Both parents were listed on the tag but the cross itself was not named. It is now though. I had to send in the parent names, get permission from the breeder and write a description (with help from a friend) of the flowers (I sent a picture as well) and send that with an application and fee to the RHS. It's pretty easy and really neat to be able to actually name a cross.

Wendy, it looks great!! The flowers look very flat and the contrast of the color makes it look great!
