Do ghosts need a lot of air movement?

Go for it SuzCC try it.

Karen I don't know about a lot of air movement but I do think they need some. Then I guess that is relative to the temperature. You'll see all types of ways people are growing them in this and other threads. I hope you try one out too. They are not easy but why not try. The worst that can happen is , well we all know what that is. But what if it makes it?

Mine are still in the flask and growing.

To provide enough moisture, it sounds like I need to set up a vivarium. I have to save up first for a light system for the rest of my orchids. The models I've looked at that have enough shelves and bulbs cost $500!!!
I'm worried that my collection won't get enough light now that days are shorter (my orchids have always suffered in winter here in the Northeast, except for cymbidiums, which are cold growers) I now have them in the brightest room in my house and I use a humidifier, but they will need a light setup (fluorescent tubes) I'm not sure I have the time and energy to deal with that AND the ghosts. :-(

Thanks, Swamper. I finally did read through some of the earlier posts - one post described a set up similar to what I was thinking of doing. I obtained a small, leaky aquarium - just perfect for a ghost and a friend. Some charcoal, moss, water and something to hang the orchids on and fingers crossed! I just need the light.

Hey, SuzCC - If I can get this to work, so can you! I'll let you know how it goes.

Default Dendrophylax lindenii galore

Hello Everyone,
Had to take a pause and let myself think and learn the only way this Hillbilly really can the ol' "Hey Y'all Watch This" method!
Well you say so howd that work out? Great!!!
Actually I had a ton of help thanks to Brenda at Botanica Ltd. and most of all to my friend gixrj18!
I put togather a little system based primarly on the one ghost orchid 77 has posted anywhere you find a DXl spoken about.
I use a good size tank maybe 100 gal. then got a Zoo Med. fogger not the tiny little thing but the one that is its own machine w/ a quart bottle in the top of it.Next hooked that to Zoo Med. digital humidity and temp. controler. This gives me the ability to set humidity & temp. to exact degree. Then put a small fan (made for damp places!!! don't skimp with elec. & water coming together) on dimmer switch to slow it down to a slight stir so to speak. Put stick on heat pads under bottom & Bam!! Florida Swamp in my kitchen.
In the near future will also install misting system on timer when I can find what I need? help me out on that one somebody?
I then proceeded to buy up way too many (I did not just say too many ) flask of Den l. and that is where I am at at this point with my love and interrest in these little leafless buggers!!
Y'all be Good,
Marty
I hope the pics. are in my gallery!
