A friend gave me a Mok. that she had for 3 years and nothing. I started using super thrive w/my fert., some KLN once a month and within 6 months it not only grew new roots but also bloomed for the first time. I do water almost every day along with my other vandas. She is Mok. Dinah Shore, a beautiful red!

So I guess that I'm going to have to get some of the KLN to see if I can help it grow new roots. However it's growing it's 3rd new leaf since I got it.

I've had pretty good luck with using liquid seaweed as a spray for newly-mounted plants, and also add a dash in a soak for bare-root plants before potting. It seems to jump-start root growth.
Heck, anything that can grow ten feet per day has got to have some muscular hormones and chemicals in it!
Regards - Nancy

Question

Thank you Nancy; I'll try to find the liquid seaweed. I'm sure that they must sell it somewhere here; if not can I just blend dried seaweed and do the same???

Dont worry about the lack of roots if your conditions are extremely favorable the plant may feel it has no need for new roots and will just continue growing as if it had a ton of them. This is especially true of hybrids containing Rhynchostylis,Tricoglottis, or Ascocentrum. In nature giant specimens can be found clinging to a tree with just enough root mass to support them as they continue to climb.

It's growing very well it's 3rd new leaf is coming out nicely, but I'll still like to see a little bit more roots.
