I love this little plant. It just started blooming today. There must be 10-12 growths in a 4 inch pot with more just coming in. I haven't decided if I should divide it or just let it go. What do you think?

Also, the flowers seem to be more yellow than orange this year. Hopefully they will deepen as the flowers mature.

Default Usuall orchid name

Hi that's an usual orchid name. Does it have a fragrance? Is it in the Onc. alliance? I would wait to repot it into a bigger pot after whenever the blooming period ends.

Nope, definetely not a oncidium. Rumrillara is a Neost Lou Snearly x Asctm miniatum cross. That's why it's here in vanda land. In fact, the individual plantlets look like miniature vandas.

I've never detected a fragrance, though you would think it would have one considering its parentage.

Very Nice!
I think that you should divide it and send me a piece...j/k

I too have one of these, although mine has not branched out and multiplied like yours.
If you smell it when it is warm during the day, it should smell like an Orange Julius, or an orange creamsicle. At least that is the way that I remember mine from last year

Question

I just acquired one and was wondering what type of medium I should use? This is my first vanda type. Being in the Vanda family, I'm assuming extra high light and lots of humidity?

Thx
Helen
