Hi,

I got this plant as a present (thankyou sister in law ! )it arrived in mid April (after a bouncy trip with the postal system 10 days !)furnished with a flowerstalk and a couple flowers so I go to see it before they all wilted...

It has now put out a new flower stalk and is nearly all open bar a few flowers!!! that's 2 flowerings within a period of about 2 months.....and is now putting out an other one ....the 'baby leaf 'it came with is now 'adolescent' Plus it's put out 2 new roots!!!!
Had to share ! here's some of the growth cycle to now..
these photos are from this times flowering ..will post photos of Aprils' flowering

Isn't it wonderful when these little plants do this? I mean, when they surprise us with unexpected flowers? Congrats on your Ascocentrum, Nenella!

It's always a bonus when they bloom twice or more within the same year. Looks like you have a winner with this one. She would be prettier if you cut off the old blooming spike. Just my thing about grooming out dead flowers, spikes, leaves. I'm waiting for mine to bloom the first time.

.....and it's growing in a vase. It's very pretty in there. Congratulations on bringing it back into bloom, and so soon.

Thank you all for your comments ...first minature vanda [I]'ve ever had...very pleased to have it but would never havre chosen it!!!

I have a admission to make.... it grew a new leaf, 2 roots & new flower stalk ...in a bottle...(plastic 18l water bottle lined with Leca) but as the flower stem grew as well as leaves started becoming bigger ..getting it 'in ' the bottle, without damaging it..... became a 'pain' unfortunately...& I managed to damage it!
(see top blasted' end of stalk) so it's now been flowering in the vase.... I don't know what i'll do once flowering stalk dried up...?
Don Perusse, I agree, would look 'better' without the dry twig poking out..... but am glad I didn't cut off as it hits me in the face, every time I look at it .. at How FAST this little lady has put out a new stalk and i'm no expert..

PS: I know that IFshe's to live i am going to have to take her with me on holiday....(as there's no one to look after her & I know needs soaking 30 mins at the moment everyday....
