AERIDES
First two photos are A. houlletiana & the last is A. odorata. On the latter, I suspect a bird eat the tip of the spike off, as the tip disappeared a week or so ago. The fragarance of each is very similar, sweet and fairly strong, but not permeating the air like a Brassavola. This is the first bloom for each.

Very Nice. Darned birds! They are trying to nest in some of my hanging Phals. Argghh!
What's your culture like? I have a houlletiana seedling I'd like to really make happy.

Very simple, they're attached to an oak branch, about 1" in diameter, and about 10" long with no medium. Hanging in the outer part of an oak tree, where it gets fairly strong filtered light, and is misted when it doesn't rain. In winter it's in a greenhouse and sprayed infrequently. I've had them about 3 years.

I have odorata
It's budding and getting ready to bloom. Very beautiful and different. This is the second year for mine to bloom.

Royal, I need to amend my previous post to say the A houlletiana is mounted on oak as reported, but the A odorata is mounted in a black basket, with no cork or aliflor added to the basket. I may add these if I remount in a slightly larger basket.
