Default V. 'Memoria Louis Hatos' pink and purple

I think I may have a wrong tag on a plant here. I bought them both bare root from Motes a couple years ago and I thought they were the same except for the color (1 pink, 1 purple). However now that they are both blooming, the flowers are not similar. The plant looks about the same and they both have the same nice fragrance. Are they both 'Louis Hatos'?

Just checking the name you have, its actually Ascocenda Memoria Louis Hatos = Ascda John De Biase x tessellata. The smaller full pink one shows the John De Biase and is probably labelled correctly but the other plant looks to be a true Vanda and a cross that includes something like V. coerulea with one of the species. I believe them to both totally different in parentage. Motes may be able to help by photo.

Susie, I just found some pics of other plants of your plants in question. I think I have them back to front. The larger one looks very much like the pics I found and is correct, its the smaller dark one that is wrong.

Roy, so the Mem L Hatos would be the big, dark purple 'checkered' one, right? And the pink, rounder flowered one is a vanda? Thanks for your help!

No, I think they are both Ascocendas but the pink rounder flower one is a different crossing.

They don't even look like cousins never mind sisters!!!! I can't help one bit but I do enjoy the pics as Ascda. are my favorites....I may have about 20 or so tho not these two pictures. Hope you can find their family name.

Default clarification

Susie (and others)
Please see my reply post in the Vanda forum titled " Ascda 'Louis Hattos' blooming". It is not only based on my own growing experience with Ascda. Mem. Louis Hatos, but on additional research I did before I posted there. Here is the additional information I discovered. The small rounder pink blossom pictured above is very similar to an AOS awarded plant that Sharon & Dave Garrett exhibited called Ascocenda Memoria Louis Hatos 'Garrett's Rosy Posy', HCC/AOS. It is pictured along with the award notes in the AOS, AQ Plus software. The shape and pattern of Susie's pink bloomer is also similar to both of the Ascda. Mem. Louis Hatos I have, with photos posted on the other thread mentioned here.
Respectfully, David
