I agree with Tindo. I just don't see this spp. in a pot of any sort. I might try putting something like a Phal on a mount some day, but can not see myself putting this guy on anything other that a stick.

I agree that it looks more suited to a mount. the second one is still in bark mainly because that's what it came in, and I'm always reluctant to move something that's in bud.

as for primeagra, there is fine grade available now, and small containers are pretty easy to find (especially if you have a cordless drill). but I'm not sure if it would even require smaller stuff--I have oncidiums in the coarse grade and their roots are about the same size.

anyway, after all this talk it'll probably end up mounted eventually, once it decides it's had enough of the pot.

I recently mounted one I got in a pot. It was in bud and the buds blasted. Infact the whole spike blasted. But thats okay. THis guy is so easy to spike that within a week it was working hard to replace the lost spike.

Scott, consider all the posts here about how folks cut off the inflorescense and the plant responded (after time) with new roots and new flowers. If it were mine, after the first blossom (so I could see it in person) I'd mount it and keep it sprayed and watered. JMO.
