both products are retailed by firstray <www.firstrays.com> who is one of the main expert on semi-hydroponics (s/h) technique of potting orchids.
EpiWeb is a Swedish product he imports. It is a recycled product coming from milk containers. It is supposed to have the properties of tree fern. He has it in sheets for mounts, small cubes to which this thread refers, for substituting inert fillers. PrimeAgra is a form of LECA that he sells (maybe exclusively.)
You might want to go to the web site. He gives a lot of good information of these products as well as general orchid care.
(I'm a customer and not paid or otherwise reimbursed for this note.)

Ramon

When you get a chance could you update us on your experience growing the Wanda in the Epiweb medium. I have not found advise about this type of culture long-term. I am glad you tried this since it may work well when growing indoors. If it works for you it may be worth a new thread.

Thank You

Default vanda in epiweb

so far it is alive. a lot of new roots and new growth. I think the epiweb is fine, now we will challenge it with a period of neglect (I will be gone 1 week and have no sitter.)
I have been submerging it in water/fertilizer/superthrive on Mon, Wed and Fri.

sure, this weekend I will take some pictures and post them here... the continue growing, lots of roots, many growing out the pot (I plan to leave them this way too) and 4 new leave since the picture I post here in May... and if I am not just seeing that wrong, I think a spike is just starting to grow..

P.D.- sorry, I did not reply earlier but I was on holidays...

Ramon and Nick thanks for replying. Your experience is valuable to many of us who grow indoors.

Nick
Did you just plant the Vanda with the old medium intact?
