Just saw your post Nancy. A very attractive and healthy looking specimen. My Pine River red is in spike, and I will post it, within the week.

I have intended to photograph this for some weeks now and finally got around to it yesterday. My photography is terrible at it's best and these are worse than normal, but I think you will be able to see the color OK. The pictures turned out MUCH redder than the actual flower. I have a real problem calling this 'Orange'. It's more like a wantabe red that just didn't quite make it! Calling it a red orange might be much more correct. What do you think?

Nicely shaped flower - the lip contrasts so well!

Jerry I think the second photo is absolutely gorgeous. I love the sun bleeding through and the shimmery color. very nice. thanks for sharing. the color is a sunset mixture with grapefruit.

I agree not really what you would call orange. I've heard of Pine River Pink, maybe mis-labeled? I have the Vasco Pine River Blue that blooms twice a year and usually with two spikes. Does yours? One of my favorites. Nice growing.

I don't think I have ever seen Pine River 'Pink". I have this one (supposedly 'Orange'), Pine River 'Red', and Pine River 'Blue'. I have to admit that I prefer the 'Blue' over the others. You are out doing me Don. Yes, my 'Blue' usually blooms twice a year but I only get 2 spikes in the spring. The second blooming usually only has one spike. I used to grow a lot of vandas when I lived in the mid west but don't do as well here with them. The Vasco's really perform though.
