Default HELP!!!

Help needed. The guys from Grossräschner Orchids decided to add one Stereochilus dalatensis as a present to my order of minis. I HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT THIS SPECIES!!! (to be honest I not even know about its existence!!!)

anyway, the point is that I do not want to kill it... How do you grow it? Is it possible to grow it in Sphag like Neofinetia? What about S/H? How much light, humidity, whatever!!??

PLEEEEEEAASSSEEEEE!!!!

Hi Ramón
It can be grown like Neo. falcata. But unlike Neo. falcata, the species is not from the cold Japan, and hence it dislikes cold in winter.
I will say that it is most like ascocentrums and hence you can follow the tips for Ascocentrums.
The light level is like that for cattleyas, but not direct sun exposure.
The species enjoys higher humidity from spring till late autumn and keep it slightly dry but not totally dry out in winter.
I did not try S/H before, but it grows well in coarse mediums or if you can provide it good humidity, it does well to be mounted on the slab.

If you grow it in Sphag, you should water it carefully to prevent rot roots.

Thanks for the info, Dorothy. I have inquired about them and still waiting for answers. I also found a couple others I was looking for. Dorothy to the rescue. Thanks.
