Did you get to Green Acres? Did you find anything you just had to have?

Did you EVER go orchid shopping and NOT find anything?
Actually, I bought 21 orchids. Mostly Laeliocattleyas and Brassolaeliacattleyas. I did buy a calanthe, a bulbophyllum and an Encyclia. I may go back again before it is over.

That's great Greg. Were they all 50% off? Please post some pics of your new orchids.
I would love to go back again. I really would love to get some of her vandas. I have a problem........where would I put them? I would need to go back to Lowes and buy some more pipe to build myself another rack to hang them on. It also would mean moving the phrag plants from a 22" X 48" tray somewhere else. They would need to be short phrags to fit where I have extra space for them. Unfortunately most of my phrags are not short once they set bud.
I will be going through some tests next week to confirm if I have Parkensons Disease. My vandas are all in my basement. I was told yesterday that I MUST walk with a walker rather than a cane, which I use now. I have a cane at the top of the steps and one at the bottom to use when I get there. A walker would really complicate my life. What the tests show, and what restrictions may be put on me, could limit my trips to the basement every morning to drench them. I have already been taken to the hospital three times because of falls. Twice I landed on my face and the last time I crushed some vertebra. How long is my luck going to last for growing orchids?
I happen to be a very determined and strongly independent person but how long will determination continue to let me do what I wish to do?

Most of them were 50% off
but there were quite a few that she would not sell. I think they might be earmarked for folks that she knows that are in the business. I asked he about a specimen plant, but she didn't act too eager to sell one. I will be some time in posting any pics--all but one of mine were not in bloom.

Off topic, sorry... Marilyn, there are lifts that install along side of stairs - not too expensive like elevators. I would hate to see one deprived of enjoying the orchids
